The pastor and his wife are both 1983 graduates of Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana and are the parents of four: Jeremy, Nicole, Zackary, and Katherine.

James has pastored the Arnold Baptist Tabernacle in Arnold, Missouri since 1987. The church is a growing Independent Baptist congregation with people being saved and baptized regularly. A.B.T. is deeply involved in world-wide missions, local soul winning and especially church planting.

TRUTH AND TESTIMONY

We think you will find the Sunday School and Bible classes beneficial to every member of your family, from the youngest to the oldest. Our teachers are dedicated people with a heart for God and a burden to help you with your walk with Him.

Nursery Facilities –Located in room 101.

You can leave your children with our nursery staff—the best around, or if you are uncomfortable just wait till another time. Our bed babies are cared for by the ladies of our church. You may register your child at the door of the nursery.

2-3 year olds –Located in room 102 in the downstairs hall on the east side of the building

The 2-3 year olds at ABT have their very own class where they sing, do tiny activities, and hear Bible stories. After conducting this class for over 25 years, our church understands the dividends. This nursery is open  during the 11:00 am preaching service, also.

4-5 year olds –Located in room 103 in the downstairs hall (east side)

Our 4 and 5 year old class is a pre-primary church. Great music, Bible Stories and mini activities help them learn.

We are independent of any church denomination, and fundamental in our beliefs.
We are Bible-believing,  preach the King James, and believe it is the preserved and inspired word of God.
We are rightfully called Baptist because of our belief in the inerrancy of the scriptures, the blood atonement of Christ, His bodily resurrection, His deity and His sinless life.
We believe that salvation was paid for totally by Christ's finished work on the cross; and we practice the immersion of believers only
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith and that our righteousness is imputed to us freely by the grace of God.

If you are in need of salvation, click here.

We believe that Christ will return for His own in the first resurrection (known as "the Rapture") before the tribulation. Christ will return to the earth in His resurrected body and will set up His eternal kingdom on the earth.
We further believe the world is lost, in need of Jesus and that we, the local church, have been given a commission by Christ Himself to go and  preach the gospel of salvation to a lost and dying world. To this end we have committed our lives, our time and our finances. We further work to encourage the saints, rear our children, save our marriages and pray for revival.

We were founded in September of 1972 by missionary church planter James Waymire. Bro. Waymire is a graduate of Tennessee Temple College and trained under Lee Roberson. He was assistant bus director at Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The church first met in a house on Tenbrook
Road in Arnold and within a few years,
purchased property on the corner of Highway 141 and I- 55. The church prospered and called its second pastor in 1978, Larry Stark, from Magnolia, Arkansas. The church continued to grow and outgrew it's location on 141.

James Beller became the pastor in February
of 1987, and within a few months, the church purchased the current properties of  ABT.  In 1993, ABT Academy was founded. In 1994, a new auditorium was built and dedicated.

In 1998, ABT purchased a church building  in Rock Hill, Mo. to assist in the planting of  Solid Rock Baptist Church. We also rejoice in the purchase of the South Broadway Baptist Chapel at 8201 S. Broadway in the city of St. Louis, in the year 2001.

We have purchased property on the 5700 Block of S. Virginia, in St. Louis, in assisting the founding of the Victory Independent Baptist church.

In the summer of 2005, ABT assisted in the forming of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Farmington, Missouri.

In miraculous fashion our church has been granted the use of a choice church building on Highway 30 in House Springs, Missouri. The baby church, Grace Independent Baptist Church is now under the leadership of Pastor Matt Dudley and have begun morning and evening services.

We are now have the Gateway Baptist Church, St. Louis under the leadership of Bro. Daniel McCrillis.  They are meeting at the 8201 S. Broadway location.

Our VISION-
The future is in winning the lost and teaching the saved. We are making plans to expand our present church facilities for more room for Sunday School classes and Christian school.  Our vision is to start at least 4 additional urban chapel outreaches into St. Louis City, and by the grace of God, more churches.
